Scott Renovation

Challenge

Call TOTL Building & DesignWhen sitting down and talking with the Scott’s, located in Richmond, BC, we found they didn’t like their cabinets, first and foremost, as they were all broken as well as outdated. Further, there simply wasn’t enough cupboard space for anyone, there was a complete lack of good, functional lighting, and finally, but not least, the sink plumbing was continually failing.

Solution

After much consultation and consideration we all agreed to add some new millwork to the ceiling for more storage. This also updated the look and feel of the kitchen space. Next we installed beautiful and functional quartz countertops everywhere, and some glass backsplash where needed. As well we supplied and installed a new sink and fixture. Finally, new pot lights were added throughout the freshly renovated space to give it a very fresh, bright look and feel.

Challenge

Call TOTL Building & DesignWhen the Barr family from Port Coquitlam came to me, then had issues that so many families have: not enough room for more than just a couple of people in the kitchen; the cabinetry colour was worn and dated; the island in the kitchen was small and the peninsula was just plain awkward! As well, the flooring was completely worn out, and the area was dark and dingy because of poor lighting.

Solution

After a full discussion on the pros and cons of various layouts, uses and products lines, the solution was to first reconfigure the footprint or layout. Next, in looking to save some money we were able to use the existing cabinets, and just refinish them. We also then painted all kitchen millwork, installed new laminate throughout the home, and finally to help with the lighting, we Installed multiple pot lights and island pendants.

Belmont Drive

Challenge

Call TOTL Building & DesignThe problem with the Rogers renovation was that the home was very old, and needed a complete makeover. And since the kitchen is one of the best areas to begin any home renovation start, that is where we began. First off, the kitchen footprint area was very small, with zero family space. The area was also very loud, as sound bounced off of everything.

Solution

The solution to this issue for the Rogers family was to open things right up, and update the floors, counters and all back splashes. So first off, we went with a very nice open kitchen and family room concept. We then added some eye catching, stylish millwork around the new kitchen footprint, some beautiful, scratch-resistant granite countertops all around, and finally installed wonderful slate tile heated floors. The room was now warm, inviting and large enough for the family to entertain and just hang out.
